Now that I've don't have bags of mulch nagging me from the patio, I feel a bit at loose ends, deciding what my next gardening adventure is going to be.I have many options—quests—that I can undertake. It was easy to yank out the thistle and the beggars tick. No one likes them in the flower garden. I had no problem pulling out the hollow tubes left long after the daylilies last bloomed. … [Read more...] about I was all “tough gardener” until…
My Methods of Weed Control

I feel like I can't turn my back on a flower border or vegetable garden bed for more than two seconds before a new weed seed germinates. There are weeds everywhere. I clear out weeds in the morning and by nightfall they are back, and it seems as though they've brought their friends with them. I look for weeds, find none, but the very next day, there is a weed in the spot where I looked … [Read more...] about My Methods of Weed Control
