This week, Dee Nash and I published our 100th Gardenangelists podcast episode. That's a nice milestone, don't you think?Through those 100 episodes, we've learned quite a bit and hopefully shared some nice tidbits about gardening. We learned along the way that publishing a podcast isn't quite as easy as writing a blog post and hitting "publish" when you are done writing and have given it a once over. It takes a bit of time to sync up our two MP3 files, edit out the pauses and background … [Read more...] about Milestones
As soon as I stepped out the back door and looked down, I saw it. A half-eaten cherry tomato. And that's being generous to say half-eaten. It looks like someone took just one bite out of it! Who did this? I'll tell you who likely did it. It was probably a chipmunk. I see them quite often though admittedly I haven't seen one for a while. They must be hiding out in the shade and then coming out in the cool evenings to ravage my garden by eating cherry tomatoes and occasionally digging in the … [Read more...] about A Peace Offering?

I also finally sowed seeds for zinnias, marigolds, and sunflowers that evening. It seems like almost a minor miracle to have planted everything, but … [Read more...] about 40 Hours
You say "penny", I say "pee-o-nee" and some people say "piney." But everyone says pretty! Everyone! There is no way any sane person could look at my new 'Bartzella' ITOH peony and not be blown over by its beauty. And the good news is, I've planted it in the ground where it belongs. In fact, until another shipment of trial plants arrived today, I had all the "plant in the ground" plants planted in the ground with the exception of one hosta. I will not pat myself on the back though … [Read more...] about You say Penny, I say…
