Skip way down for some announcements... Is there something special we should do on the last day of the month? Back on November 1, I wrote how people used to say "Rabbit, Rabbit" before hopping out of bed on the first day of the month. (Or maybe they say "rabbit" three times? Regardless, don't forget to do it tomorrow, because yes, November is nearly over!) What rituals do people have on the last day of the month? I did an exhaustive 10-second search and those first few links looked a … [Read more...] about For the Last Day of a Month…

How to Write a Garden Blog Post
First, find an interesting picture. Second, decide what kind of story it's going to tell. This particular picture has several possible stories in it. Front and center is the story of my second children's book, The Halloween Hare, which is coming up on its one-year anniversary. Book-aversary? Is that what they call it? I'm doing a little bit to promote it this fall because when you write a book around a holiday, people will generally buy it around that holiday. My tagline this … [Read more...] about How to Write a Garden Blog Post
Over here. I’m over here now!
I'm over here now. Here is my author website on Wordpress. With a tiny bit (a lot) of help, we moved all those 2,891 posts from Blogger over here to Wordpress. “I don’t know what to blog about”
"I don't know what to blog about" is a familiar lament amongst garden bloggers. I hope that does not apply to the 15th of every month when I host Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day here on my blog. Not familiar with it? Surely you jest! I've been hosting this meme since about 2007. I think that's when it started. I know it was a long-time ago in an Internet age before "social media" ran over blogs and took away many bloggers' mojo. (Side note: Today is Day 23 of my … [Read more...] about “I don’t know what to blog about”
