Over here. I’m over here now!

December 17, 2020 By Carol 6 Comments

I'm over here now. Here is my author website on Wordpress. With a tiny bit (a lot) of help, we moved all those 2,891 posts from Blogger over here to Wordpress. I posted on Blogger one last time yesterday with a post that was sort of designed to get you to click and head over here. Why? Because if you still want to get emails whenever I post on my blog, you need to sign up again. The old RSS feed that you probably signed up for 10 plus years ago isn't going to make the transition. … [Read more...] about Over here. I’m over here now!

Garden Talk on Facebook

October 26, 2020 By Carol Michel 12 Comments

When you post about gardening on Facebook...Look, everyone, at my pretty flower. Like, like, like, screech, what's that? Oh, I almost got runover by that political ad.  Wasn't expecting that! It's no one I'd ever vote for. They aren't even in my district! I'm going to just scroll past that and hey, are those some nice looking shoes or what? I didn't know I needed new shoes! And oh my goodness, I didn't know it was that person's birthday! Happy Birthday! I wonder who that person is? How did … [Read more...] about Garden Talk on Facebook

Five Ideas for Garden Blog Posts

October 21, 2020 By Carol Michel 1 Comment

If you've ever sat and stared at your computer wondering what to post on your garden blog, or any blog, then this is the post for you!I'm going to give you five ideas that you can use anytime on your own garden blog to make an engaging post.Idea number one is to sow some seeds. Well, not actual seeds, but symbolic seeds. Seeds equal ideas. Share some of your ideas about gardening and see if they germinate with others. For example, you might share what you put into your fall containers to inspire … [Read more...] about Five Ideas for Garden Blog Posts

“I don’t know what to blog about”

August 14, 2020 By Carol Michel 12 Comments

"I don't know what to blog about" is a familiar lament amongst garden bloggers. I hope that does not apply to the 15th of every month when I host Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day here on my blog.  Not familiar with it? Surely you jest! I've been hosting this meme since about 2007.  I think that's when it started. I know it was a long-time ago in an Internet age before "social media" ran over blogs and took away many bloggers' mojo. (Side note: Today is Day 23 of my … [Read more...] about “I don’t know what to blog about”

A Garden Blogger’s Tale

July 25, 2020 By Carol Michel 10 Comments

Once upon a time, there was a gardener who decided that she should plant a blog in her garden so she could share it with others. Hopefully, and without much fanfare, she planted the blog, tended it, and watched it grow. Many people visited it, and often they would leave comments to let her know how much they appreciated the opportunity to see and read about her garden. Then one day, a mysterious stranger came into her garden and offered her some new seeds to sow in her garden. The stranger … [Read more...] about A Garden Blogger’s Tale

Sometimes you just do stuff…

February 13, 2020 By Carol Michel 3 Comments

Sometimes you just do stuff because you find this cool website where you can upload photos and make interesting pictures like this one of me on an imaginary book cover. Maybe one day I'll write that book! In the meantime, I have made great progress on my fifth book, which is my fourth book of gardening essays. I'll write a whole blog post about it someday soon! In the meantime, you might head over to my author website to read about my adventures in throwing a bit of clay on a pottery wheel. … [Read more...] about Sometimes you just do stuff…
