Grasses at May Dreams Gardens, or Lack There Of

September 9, 2007 By Carol Michel 19 Comments

You will find my garden lacking in ornamental grasses.I know of many good reasons to plant ornamental grasses, including for the winter interest they provide and for the movement they add to the garden as they sway out there in the wind.I see ornamental grasses growing in other gardens, and I like them alright. I just haven't made room for them in my own garden.I do have this patch of what I call Zebra Grass, but I don't know if that is really what it is. Tall Grasses, Strange Things Going On

October 10, 2006 By Carol Michel 4 Comments

We were exercising together, we were enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine. Even in the summer, … [Read more...] about An Open Letter to My Lawn

Mower Up

August 22, 2006 By Carol Michel 4 Comments

I went to a minor league baseball game this evening. For me, there are just two reasons to go to a baseball game, maybe three. The first is you get to see some of the best lawn in town. They really take grass growing seriously at the ball diamond, using lots of technology and techniques developed at Purdue University. The second reason to go is because of the skyline view of Indianapolis. It’s pretty good from this location southwest of downtown, and if you can get tickets, it is also a good … [Read more...] about Mower Up
