Welcome to Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day for May 2025.
Here in my USDA Hardiness Zone 6a garden in central Indiana, it is well and truly spring heading into summer.
There are blooms everywhere you look and if you don’t look often, you might risk missing something in bloom!
But don’t look too closely or you might see some weeds too.
So where are all the flower pictures you ask?
This month, rather than post all of the pictures here on my blog, I made a little video of the blooms, which you can see here or on YouTube.
The video is just under 50 seconds so I hope you’ll take the time to view it!
Otherwise you might miss the daisies, roses, wisteria, salvia, alliums, and more that are exploding… I mean blooming… in my garden right now.
But just in case you decide you just don’t have less than a minute to view some pretty flowers, I put a picture of my ‘Bartzella’ peonies just starting to bloom on this post so you could get the idea that it is assuredly spring.
Now, would you like to join in for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day?
It’s easy to participate and I hope that you do!
Just post on your blog about the blooms in your garden on or around the 15th of the month, and then come back here and leave a link to your post (wherever or however it is) on the Mr. Linky widget and then comment to tell us all about what you have in bloom this month.

The video was such a nice idea. I am in love with your peony, and enjoyed seeing all the other blooms, too. So many peonies I see (including mine) are pink. Now I’m wishing for a yellow one. My columbines have disappeared – I don’t think I will have any this year, so seeing yours was enjoyable. And, how I wish I could sniff your wisteria. Alana ramblinwitham
You definitely have a lot of blooms Carol! I love the peony and your beautiful clump if columbine. I always end up with one here and one there and they make so much more impact in a clump.
I envy you the peonies and Alliums in particular, neither of which want to grow in my climate. Thanks for hosting, Carol!
I admit to sharing wildflowers, most photos taken by others. Some days I have my own photos, but not today. I’m trying to remember names of these flwoers.
You are definitely further ahead than we are right now. So interesting as our areas are so similar most times. Beautiful video Carol! 🙂 Love it.
Wonderful video, it could have been twice as long–pan around your garden to show us the different groupings the next time, please! I’d love to see how the entire ensemble looks. My Bartzella is still in bud, yours is lovely!
Your Peony Bartzella is gorgeous and ahead of mine here in zone 7b, which will bloom in a week or so. I loved the idea of the You Tube video and enjoyed it thoroughly! Your garden is beautiful as always!
Love the video. I have a medium pink peony blooming. I don’t know the cultivar. I have pinks, perennial bachelor buttons, Siberian iris, columbine, and allium molli blooming
Hi Carol, I enjoyed the flowers in the video but what really struck me was how green your peas were. Much healthier than ours. I’m adding fertilizer to the pea row now though I’ve never done that before.
Happy Bloomday Carol. Thanks for sustaining this monthly roundup !
Nice video! Your garden looks to me, in NH, like half spring — the columbine, iris, allium, peas, peonies (not that any of these is blooming here yet) — and half summer — the roses, sweet William, daisies, wisteria, and salvia.
