Want To Win a Fiskars® Momentum™ Reel Mower?

January 23, 2010 By Carol Michel 7 Comments

Pull up a lawn chair and let’s talk about mowers and mowing for a minute.

Remember when I last mowed the lawn? You don’t remember? Well, I can hardly forget that last mowing because I mowed with a brand new Fiskars® Momentum™ Reel Mower and then I wrote a little review about my mowing experience.

Since then, with almost two months of not mowing to reflect on that experience, I have just one additional thought…

When can we start mowing again?!

I want to mow again! I found this Fiskars® mower to be quite fun to use, and I felt good about using it because it is good for the environment, too. Plus, unlike some other reel mowers, it was not hard to push at all. In fact, it felt like I used the same effort to push it as I did my regular ol’ gas powered mower, except…

It was very quiet. It just made that slight clipping noise as I mowed back and forth and around and around my lawn. It took my mowing experience to a whole new level. I have a feeling that this spring, everyone will want to get one.

Hey, how about getting one now? You could get it all set up and admire it until spring mowing time comes around for you! If that sounds good to you, click over to Dee’s blog, Red Dirt Ramblings and check out her contest to win your own Fiskars® Momentum™ Reel Mower.  Tell her Carol sent you! (Oh, and Dee says you have to enter by January 31st)

Good luck to all who enter!

It's going to be the biggest hit of the year~ !!! If I didn't have an acre of land, I'd get it in a minute.

Although I cannot participate as I live in India, I would like to say that this is a great idea. In my garden which is organic, the mantra is reduce, reuse and recycle!

Dear Carol, Whilst my own lawn could most likely be cut with nail scissors, I have really enjoyed this account. Thank you for your comment on my blog to which I have replied.

Ah, I remember that lovely little clipping noise they make now that you mention it. We had one eons ago when we bought our first house. It wasn't as advanced as they are now so mowing St Augustine grass was a challenge. Still, I loved the sound it made.

I love to mow too. I write about reducing lawn in my garden, but I don't want it to all go away. Where will kids kick their soccer ball, where will the roll down the hill, where will Van Morrison's brown-eye girl go? lol. So much of our mythology is based on green, green grass. But boy, can we lessen our footprint with this mower…makes for a strong argument to keep our grass. H.

I love Helen's comment! Even if I could dig up all our grass and turn it into a garden, I wouldn't. Nothing like watching the grandkids run through the yard playing hide and seek or tag with Sophie.

I did leave a comment on Dee's blog, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I remember your review of it, so it must be good!
