The Christmas Cottontail Gives Gardeners a Break

November 13, 2019 By Carol Michel 4 Comments

The Christmas Cottontail nervously looked at the calendar hanging on the wall above his potting bench. "Ah yes, November 13th," he said to the underbunnies and chipmunks. "Christmas seems so far away but it is only 41 days from now. We've got a lot to do between now and then." Everyone nodded in agreement as the Christmas Cottontail handed out a list of the day's assignments and checked his own schedule. Then he picked up the latest newspaper delivered that morning by one of Santa's … [Read more...] about The Christmas Cottontail Gives Gardeners a Break

An Exciting Day for the Christmas Cottontail

March 31, 2019 By Carol Michel 2 Comments

The Christmas Cottontail was taking it easy one fine spring day as he sat in his greenhouse waiting for the underbunnies and chipmunks to bring in reports of spring flowers. In many ways, this time of year, more than Christmas and the months leading up to it, was his favorite season.  He didn't have nearly as much to do except review reports of spring flowers that grew from the seeds and bulbs he had planted on Christmas Eve. And there were many reports to review even though the spring … [Read more...] about An Exciting Day for the Christmas Cottontail

The Christmas Cottontail Has An Identity Crisis

December 12, 2017 By Carol Michel 8 Comments

There were just a few days left before Christmas and no time to waste. Up at the North Pole, everyone was busy. Elves, all the reindeer, Santa, Mrs. Santa, and  the Christmas Cottontail and his under bunnies were running hither and yon from toy workshop to stables to kitchens to greenhouses and in and out of Santa's office where Santa sat checking and re-checking his lists. But there was always time for lunch, so at the noon hour, everyone stopped for a bite to eat. The Christmas … [Read more...] about The Christmas Cottontail Has An Identity Crisis

Garden fairies prove existence of Christmas Cottontail

December 22, 2014 By Carol Michel 5 Comments

Be careful - garden fairies sleep in amaryllis blooms Garden fairies here. We are garden fairies and we have been making plans this past week to prove once and for all the existence of the Christmas Cottontail. As a refresher, the Christmas Cottontail is a little bunny rescued one Christmas Eve by none other than Santa Claus.  Long story short, Santa's elves trained the Christmas Cottontail how to plant bulbs and sow seeds in the flick of a whisker. Now he rides along with Santa Claus … [Read more...] about Garden fairies prove existence of Christmas Cottontail

The Christmas Cottontail’s Next Adventure

December 23, 2013 By Carol Michel 5 Comments

The tiny elf ran, slipping and sliding on the snow and ice, all the way from Santa's workshop to the potting shed and greenhouse where the Christmas Cottontail was busy getting ready for his big night helping Santa. It was late afternoon, and there were just two days left before Christmas. Just as the Christmas Cottontail was ready to take a break for clover tea and green bean cookies, one of his favorite snacks, the tiny elf burst through the door. He was out of breath and could barely … [Read more...] about The Christmas Cottontail’s Next Adventure
