Giving Gifts

December 23, 2007 By Carol Michel 11 Comments

I might have given the impression in my post on clues that you might be a Christmas gardening geek that I “fixed” the drawing of names for the family gift exchange so I would draw the name of someone who would appreciate my skill at picking out gifts for gardeners.

Nothing could be further from the truth! I must clear my good name!

I won’t tell whose name I drew, but I will say that I have out done myself and come up with quite a gift for ‘the person whose name I drew’. I’ve put all my skills (hint, hint) into coming up with a gift that will be remembered.

You want to know what it is?

It is….

Wait. Check that. He/she might read my blog and then the surprise will be ruined.

I’ll just show this picture of the gift, with the name of the recipient cleverly removed via some Photoshop editing.

Such a big box. Such pretty paper. And I even did ribbons and bows. Ribbons and bows! And look at the size of that gift tag! What could it be? Who could it be for? Why am I so excited about it?

I bet it´s something tiny, tiny, tiny wrapped up in a great big box!
Happy Christmas Carol in case I don´t get in again. I´m catching up fast on my Christmas preparations, but your still way ahead …
    Have a lovely holiday period!

Please let it be me! Please let it be me! Please let it be me!

It would be a waste on the 4th sister – the one who used to have plastic mulch and then finally moved to a condo.

It might be the oldest sister though. She inherited the green thumb gene….

Or could it be the soon-to-be-married niece who may soon carry on the family tradition with a garden of her very own?

The brother is always in China, and his wife is allergic to all green, growing things, so it couldn’t be them, could it?

Please let it be me…please let it be me…….afterall, I’m the siter with the homestead 🙂

Hi there, I saw your blog listed on “Green Thumb Sunday” and wanted to say hello! I’m from Illinois, right next door to you and a rose gardener. Hope you have a great holiday!

Sue Swift… Good guess but actually this was the smallest box I had that the gift would fit in.

Sister with the Homestead… Are you excited about Christmas, there, little sister? Are ya?

Nature Girl… Thanks for the kind words. I hope you have a good Christmas as well.

Eleanor… I know the secret is safe with you!

Ginni Dee… Welcome and come back any time!

I can’t wait for the unwrapping. You must share the unveiling. I am sure everyone who reads your blog would love to receive a beautiful box such as this.

Carol:; Hmmmm…you did a lovely job with the wrapping! We pick names in my family also but we don’t keep it a secret! Who got your name is the big question and will it be another Chia Pet! LOL

I think it’s the sister with the homestead’s gift. But whomever ends up with it, I’ll bet I’d like to have one just like it. I just know you’re the bestest garden gift giver. 😉

I think it is for the niece, from her favorite Aunt Carol. I do have an idea of what could be in it, if you judge by the size, but I’ll never tell. Only 24 plus hours and we will know.
