Welcome to Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day for June 2024.
Here in my USDA Hardiness Zone 6a garden in central Indiana, I am enjoying all kinds of flowers while waiting for our first true heat wave, due to arrive tomorrow.
Will this hydrangea looks as fresh in two more days it does today?
I don’t know the exact variety. I know it is a smooth hydrangea, Hydrangea arborescens, and I know it is one from the Invincibelle series from Proven Winners. I received it as a trial plant many years ago in a one quart container. And look at it now, leading the parade of blooms for June.
Now, settle in for the rest of the parade!
And that’s the end of the parade. There are many more blooms but these are the ones that caught my eye earlier in the day when I was out taking pictures.

That is a lovely daylily! And I think I have the same Hydrangea arborescens but it is only a couple of years old and the flowers are just tiny lacecaps-like blooms right now. Perhaps it needs a few more years, and I hope it will look as lovely as yours here. And excited to see your Verbena! Nan is such a good resource. Thanks, Carol! Happy GBBD!

Your garden is beautiful with so many wonderful blooms! The hydrangea, dwarf Bee Balm, Lavender and Lilies especially caught my eye and the blue ceramic fishes swimming among the Hosta and wheelbarrow filled with impatiens add the perfect touch to your lovely garden! Happy Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day Carol!

Love your little red wheelbarrow with the Impatiens! I wish I had something like that for my garden. All your flowers look so lovely, and the swimming blue fish add a great touch to those Hostas. Happy Bloom Day!

I hope the pending heatwave doesn’t diminish the beauty of your June garden, Carol. We’ve been saved from the high temperatures that plagued much of California last week by a persistent marine layer but it seems the tide is turning…
Thanks for hosting!

This month, I am loving both your lavender (mine isn’t blooming yet) and your daylily. I also liked the beads of dew (?) on the Easter lily. You are always a few days ahead of my garden so I love the coming attractions. Thank you, as always, for this fun day each month.

So many lovely purples. I like the short beebalm the most. Well, after the daylily!

It might be the original Invincibelle Spirit or Invincibelle Spirit II, which we got in 2015.

We’re expecting the heatwave in Ohio too and I’m dreading it. But it’s summer so it was bound to happen sometime.
Your flowers are gorgeous! I love your hydrangea and I’m not familiar with betony, but it’s so pretty!

Such a lovely parade of colour. I just loved the fish swimming in amongst the Hostas! I particularly loved that Daylily. It’s so striking.

Clematis astray is such a fun garden discovery after coaching and weeding plants! Thanks Carol, for sharing your garden and allowing other garden bloggers to attend the bloom day!

So nice to see a little bit of Maine in your garden, Carol! (I recognized those fish instantly.) Enjoy the glories of your garden.

Hi Carol, I hope that your garden withstands the heavy heat that is headed our way this weekend. Hardly seems fair sometimes…
