Garden fairies here.
We are garden fairies and we watch and see everything that goes on in this garden. Everything. Including what Carol does and doesn’t do in this garden.
Let us give you an example from just yesterday, a perfectly fine and lovely day.
It was Seedy and Soddy’s day to watch Carol and here is a summary of their report.
Well, first she came outside in her fancy gardening pants and we thought, “Oh goodie, she’s really going to get stuff done today”, but then she walked away.
Turns out she went up to the neighborhood entrance and checked on the flowers she planted up there. They are doing fine. We could have told her that if she had just asked. She never asked!
Well, then we got all excited when she returned because we thought she was going to get down to some serious gardening.
But then she drove away. In her truck.
Well, we are garden fairies so we dare not go out in that truck with her. That’s just asking for trouble. We are garden fairies, we have enough trouble without driving off for more. Though one time Ol’ Tangle Rainbowfly did hide in the truck and he said she goes to a place with more plants than he has ever seen. But yesterday, no one went with Carol so we just had to wait for her to come back.
Of course, we are garden fairies. We just don’t sit around waiting. We have stuff to do, like open flowers, chase away skeeters, and go down to the Vegetable Garden Cathedral where Granny Gus McGarden is serving up pea pods, lettuce, spinach, kale, Swiss Chard and our favorite, strawberries!
Anyway, we are garden fairies, where were we?
Oh right. Carol. Truck. Left.
Well, she came back after a bit and sure enough, she had some more plants. There were some ‘Black Cherry’ tomato plants. Good. We needed those and we are proud of Carol for planting them up right away. And there was a tomato plant that is supposed to produce seedless tomatoes. Which makes you wonder how they got seeds to grow it.
Anyway, we are garden fairies, we see everything.
Carol went back to the Vegetable Garden Cathedral with that seedless tomato and realized the tomato plot was full so she stuck a stake in some random spot and planted it there. Granny Gus McGarden was all a-flutter about it. Though we don’t know if the flutter was about a tomato that is supposed to be seedless or if she was concerned about where Carol planted the darn thing.
Anyway, we are garden fairies, we see everything.
Next, Carol went and got a small bowl to pick strawberries. Good grief, did we garden fairies laugh at her small bowl. Turns out, she needed a lot more than that one small bowl for the strawberries.
All told, she picked four and a half pounds of strawberries! Many thanks to all the garden fairies who worked so hard these last few days to ripen all those berries. With all the rain, that was quite a feat.
Anyway, we are garden fairies, we see everything.
So next, Carol’s sister, the one who doesn’t really garden, stopped by and gave Carol this welcome mat she made for her.
We garden fairies approved of it right away which is why you don’t see any leaves or bird droppings or other dirt on it. We’ve put little Deema Mae Flowerweaver in charge of keeping it nice. We swear if anyone actually wipes their dirty feet on this nice welcome mat, well, we are garden fairies. We won’t say what we’ll do but we’ll do something.
Anyway, we are garden fairies, we see everything.
This post is long enough, so we’ll stop now. For those of you who want a summary. Lots of strawberries and a new doormat, plus a seedless tomato.

Garden fairies, really? A seedless tomato? That's just weird. I kinda like the seeds. How about that welcome mat? Good thing you put someone in charge of it. ~~Dee

It is a good thing those garden fairies watch over you. We wouldn't know what was going on in your garden if they didn't.
