| Trough Garden Collection from Arrowhead Alpines |
Attention all plant geeks, gardeners, nature lovers, small plant aficionados, wildflower seekers and fans of Arrowhead Alpines. The garden fairies and I are excited to have been invited to host a giveaway of a garden trough collection from Arrowhead Alpines.
As described by the plant geeks at Arrowhead Alpines, this garden trough collection includes “4 trough plants and a very small dwarf conifer or shrub for an 8 x 10 or smaller trough. These little things are cool, obviously you need to pick very slow growing plants which we will do”.

I personally swooned over their Clematis offerings. And when I searched on “clematis”, I found an unusual Aquilegia with clematis-like flowers. About then my palms started to get a little sweaty. And then…
Garden fairies here. We think we’ve lost Carol. Last we saw she was looking at “garden treasures” on the Arrowhead Alpine website. We are garden fairies, we have seen this type of behavior in gardeners before. We don’t think she’ll be back for awhile so we will do the business end of this post.

Many things on their website have made my heart go pitter patter over the years~But, this beautiful non-native caught my fancy~Hepatica nobilis ‘Flora Plena Rubra’ and many of the natives made me smile. To have a collection of their troughs would make me jump up and down. gail
There are some very cool things there that would be perfect in the Fairy House yard! I am hoping to get that planted this summer.
I have a soft spot for moss and rock based plants but the Helleborus' are amazing!

Soooo many cool plants at AA! I'm hoping to try a few Gentianas in my rock garden and troughs this years…there is no bluer blue!
You just know with all my rocks that I am always searching for plants that stay small and don't overwhelm the site and in Texas that isn't easy. And now I have made 3 troughs out of hypertufa, one of which I have yet to fill. So yes, I would love to be that lucky winner. thanks for the chance, Carol.
I adore all their spring ephemerals, but Anemonella thalictroides 'Double Pink' is to die for! But then I looked through the Garden Treasures and fell in love with the hepatica Gail mentioned and the Helleborus niger 'Sunset'. And I'd better stop there, or I will get as lost as Carol did!
Well it's not hard to find plants to drool over. The Garden Treasures, especially Hepaticas and Paeonias, were exotic looking. I've bookmarked the site.
Oh my ! My head is spinning!!! That Rock garden collection small would be perfect around my fish pond! and then…. oh i have to go back and take a second and third look!

Helleborus orientalis 'Yellow Lady'. Yellow is my favorite color and I just don't have enough of it in my garden! Also, Helleborus orientalis 'Red Lady'. I think the ladies would do well together! 🙂
I just made four troughs last week. They are curing. I was wondering what to plant and where to buy plants for them and here you are offering a great site. I am down the rabbit hole looking for the right stuff.

I have been a fan of Arrowhead for many years and I finally placed my first order this year!! I am especially in love with their Primula collection as well as the Hepatica and Arimsaema. I have mostly shade gardens so their selection of woodland treasures is the best. I planted my first trough garden last year and I am so excited with it! I would love to try another!

Thank you for the introduction to Arrowhead. My son has just become interested in Bonsai and the trough gardens are very interesting! I saw a Cryptomeria Japonica Tansu I think he would be very interested in! I will be showing him their web site!
Wow. They have an incredible selection!! While I love all the conifers, I am also smitten with their selection of Epimediums.
Wow, what's not to like, of course all the trough selections, but those primulas are fantastic. And I could drop a bundle on those Epimediums, they're such a great plant, I need more of them!
Trillium catesbaei would be a great addition to my Trillium assortment in my very shady gardens.

I am newly fascinated with succulents, but choosing is so hard, so I love the collections. Of course, there is also Drosanthemum hispidum – beautiful tiny blooms. All season.

well, I spent way too much time browsing their website. But I am anxious for true spring, unlike this warmuary, so my heart raced at the spring woodland wildflowers, especially the Uvularia grandiflora.

Never heard of Arrowhead Alpines but will give them a good look. The gardening budget is bust right now went to Pine Knot Farm's Hellebore Fest over the weekend.

I visited this business and it is amazing. What a wonderful selection. I live in Northeast Ohio and a Nandina was one of my purchases. It has come through 2 winters. The catalog makes me have plant lust.

Wow I had not heard of that company before – thanks (or perhaps curses) for sending me their way. I can't choose a favorite – the species peonies! The daphnes! The dwarf conifers! I could get lost in that store.
Shock and awe of the things on this site. I like the Rock Garden, but my association might not. The exotic plants that do well in the hot sun where I live would be greatly welcome. I love the peonies.

I often find myself knuckle-biting over varieties lacking pictures. Like this one: Paeonia hyb. 'Chocolate Chip'. The picture you form in your mind's eye from the description is oh-so-tantalizing.
Gentiana purdomii, Epimedium pubigerum, Thymus serphyllum elfin, Dianthus pinifolius, Geranium wlassovianum, etc. I can't wait for spring!

What a great prize you are offering. Arrowhead Alpines is a Michigan treasure over in Fowlerville. It is always a pleasure to do business with them. They have a collection of trilliums you can buy. You should always buy cultivated trilliums. Trilliums are native to Michigan. I especially like the white flowers because they brighten the spring woodland garden.
reading about a site like Alpine was enthralling good reading but sad. Sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. Brigitta has my good thoughts for healing.
I liked the blog too! wow where to start:in the blog I loved the daffodils;never saw those (caped). liked the hellebores Golden Lily. on the website I enjoyed looking at the Clematis,especially integrifolia.The Sanguinaria canadensis FL PL. enjoyed the family pet section too! all in all a truly fun experience! I think I just scrapped my previous plans for the north side of my house in favor of planting some of the enormous ferns they have for sale.
