Last Saturday, I found out via a virtual awards program that the third book in my trilogy of gardening humor, Seeded and Sodded: Thoughts from a Gardening Life received first place in the category of Non-Fiction Books for Adult Readers, Humor from the National Federation of Press Women.
I am pleased as a pickle in brine that I made this announcement before the garden fairies did it. Honestly, had they announced it… well, who knows what they would have said!
In other book-related news, I have added my fifth book, Creatures and Critters: Who’s in My Garden to my online store if anyone is interested in an autographed copy of it or any other book. Quantities are limited because it is taking longer to get copies from the distributor. I’m placing another order this week to replenish my supply, but who knows when they will arrive? As per usual, the book is available as hardback or softcover. Or if you prefer, you can also get the e-book version wherever e-books are sold.
On the video front, I’m adding videos to my Indygardener YouTube channel. You can go to Youtube and search for Indygardener and you’ll find me. Please subscribe! Most of the videos are one-take wonders. I do little editing, except for adding a title slide and a bit of intro music and piecing together individual video segments. That is why on my latest video about peas, you’ll find I reference snow peas as “peapods, flat peapods” because I couldn’t remember that they are called snow peas.
Later, when I talked with Dee on our Gardenangelist podcast, I still couldn’t remember snow peas until she mentioned them. I sure confused her! That’s right. You want confusing gardening information? Then stick with me!
That about covers it. Books, videos, podcasts.
Oh, and I’m zooming along with everyone else. If your garden club or other gardening related organization is interested in having me present to your group via Zoom, please feel free to reach out and we’ll see if we can work something out. I am absolutely willing to travel to my library to sit in front of my computer and attend a Zoom meeting with you!
