The Halloween Hare

Did you know there’s a rabbit who waits all year to visit gardens on Halloween to search for leftover Easter candy? You don’t want to know what he’ll do if he doesn’t find any! Or maybe you do want to know for the sake of your garden?

In March 2023, Woman’s Press Club of Indiana awarded The Halloween Hare a first-place in children’s fiction. “Author Carol J. Michel has a talent for sparking joy, and this short story does just that. The book’s pages alternate between colorful illustrations by Ty J. Hayden and a quirky story about a hare who only comes out on Halloween. I can imagine reading this to my baby nephews and everyone enjoying it.”
