Is gardening baked in or bolted on to your life?
When gardening is baked in, your thoughts turn to gardening when you are not in the garden. You might be shopping for furniture, watching a basketball game, or reading Harry Potter books and still find yourself thinking about plants, flowers, dirt, compost and all other things gardening.
When gardening is baked in, gardening is part of the core of who you are. You don’t have to stop and think about gardening because you never really stop thinking about gardening
When gardening is bolted on, you aren’t likely to think about gardening while watching movies like The Polar Express, polishing silverware or thinking about back to school. You think about gardening when you feel it is time to garden in the spring or when you pass through the seasonal section of the big box store and see that they’ve started stocking it with gardening items.
When gardening is bolted on, gardening is something you do when it is time to do so. You may have to stop something else to think about gardening and let it back into your life each spring.
Is gardening baked in or bolted on to your life? There are excellent gardeners in both categories, so there is no wrong answer here. Just leave a comment “baked in” or “bolted on” to let me know.
(Ummmm… I think gardening is baked into my life.)

Baked in. Maybe from being in the sun so many years.

Definitely baked in, as in extra well done. It helps to live in a place where gardening can be done all year, too.

Baked in… I think about gardening in airports!

BAKED! We read seed catalogs all year around, have dirt under our nails and on our dog noses ALWAYS and feel happy with foliage, sticks and cones in the house!

Baked. I just friended a high school friend's mother because I remember her showing me my first Wayside garden catalog. Yes, I'd go over to my friends' house and start talking gardening with their mothers.

Definitely baked. I've already made out my list of things to do once spring arrives or even before if we get a nice warm day here and there.

Definitely baked in, but it wasn't always so. It got baked in when I was off work for a month. I am the only teacher at school who doesn't paint her nails regularly because keeping them immaculate would keep her away from gardening.

I think of it as the default setting on my brain.

Hi! I'm new to blogging and have been searching for blogs that I find interesting. Yours really caught my eye. I am definitely baked. In fact, I may be overdone. My passion is gardening. During the winter I make my "to do" list for spring and read garden magazines, garden books and seed/flower catalogs. In fact, I just finished a clay project that I will put out into the yard when spring comes. I also really like your post about "garden it forward". That really says it all!! I look forward to following your blog and I hope you check out mine too!

Baked in, most definitely! And it's my husband's fault, really. In order to spend more time with him while we were dating, I'd offer up my weekends to hang out and weed, mulch, plant… whatever needed attention in his sweet little garden. All the while, he taught me everything he knew about gardening (which was quite a bit, despite his profession as an architect). Needless to say, I fell in love with more than gardening…

Definitely baked in. Always thinking about gardening…major part of who I am. When not gardening outside-indoor gardening it is…and always happy when playing in dirt!

Lovely! It seems that the plants is too early to bloom look how small and fragile it looks. I want to have this beside my wooden shed. Both will perfectly look good for sure.
