Garden fairies here.
We are garden fairies and we are busy because spring is coming early but when we got word of Carol’s book that blew in during the big winds from a few days ago, we decided to pause in our spring flower duties and write a press release.
That is why the lovely crocus pictured here isn’t open yet. We had to stop everything and work on the press release.
Have garden fairies ever written a press release before? We don’t think so but that is not going to stop us, says Violet Greenpea Maydreams. Really, how difficult could it be we asked ourselves.
We will start out as most press releases start out.
For Immediate Release.
We are garden fairies and we think that is a good start. For immediate release.
For the next part, we called upon Granny Gus McGarden to give us some words. Why? Because she’s a wise garden fairy who knows a thing or two and she has the time because Carol hasn’t planted anything in the vegetable garden just yet, which Granny is in charge of.
However Granny said she wasn’t providing any words about this book of gardening essays called Potted and Pruned: Living a Gardening Life until Carol comes back out to the Vegetable Garden Cathedral and takes care of a few items.
Firstwith and foremost, Carol promised to tear out old compost bins and make some new flower beds for Granny. Now Granny thinks she ought to be doing that and not be messing around with a book with essays that include some mentions of compost.
Then Sweetpea Morninglory spoke up and said with this warm spring weather she was hoping Carol would plant her peas earlier than usual, including, of course, some sweetpea seeds. Sweetpea herself went all through the book and was disappointed that she was not mentioned and then Ol’ Tangle Rainbowfly said not a single garden fairy was mentioned.
Well, all this talk stirred up things a bit, as one might expect, and we decided that instead of writing a press release, we garden fairies will write our own book. By ourselves. When? Soon. When we get around to it. In the meantime, we did open these crocuses.
But then little Pippa Morningdew reminded us we promised to write a press release so here it is:
For immediate release:
Writer/blogger/gardener/gardenangelist Carol Michel has just published her first book of essays about gardening. We are garden fairies and we like it.
About Carol:
Carol is the gardener around here and she is forgiven for not mentioning garden fairies but just once in her book.
Where can you buy this book:
Of course, you can buy it on Amazon
We garden fairies hear that Carol is also going to sell signed copies directly, just as soon as she gets some. She said they’ll be $20 for paperback, signed and that covers postage, too, so it is a good deal. And the signed copies come complete with some surprises inside that you cannot get from Amazon. We are garden fairies so we cannot tell you what the surprises are. But they are not scary.
She will put up a link soon to take orders. She noted that we garden fairies are not going to be allowed to sign the books. We will have to write our own.
This is the end of our garden fairy press release.
