I think tulips age rather gracefully, don’t you?
Some flowers go from pretty to “oh-dear-where-are-the-pruners-we-must-cut-off-these-ugly-dead-flowers-right-now” in a matter of a day or so.
But not tulips.
I think they are lovely even as they are clearly fading.
They look like they are posing for a Renaissance painting of some kind. They have a beauty that I think is graceful even with the fading petals.
We should all hope to age like a tulip. With a little bit of grace, without losing all our color, still standing tall in the garden as one by one the petals fade and then drop to the ground.
Well, at least that’s my plan.
Age like a tulip.
