Garden fairies here.
We are garden fairies and we are once again called upon to save this blog from becoming dormant. It has been such a long time since Carol posted we are sure by now people think she’s just up and quit this blogging business.
We can assure you, though, as far as we know, she hasn’t quit this blogging business but has been otherwise occupied with other things.
For one thing, she posted a blog post on her author website about her desk.
We assume she thought that blog post wasn’t garden-y enough for this blog so she put it on her write-ly blog place on her author website.
What is with that author’s website anyway, you ask? We are garden fairies. We ask too!
Carol says it is a place to put all her authorly stuff. Like her bio, where she’s speaking, what her books are, and those non-garden-y blog posts.
We are garden fairies. We want it to be known right now that there is no way we are going to carry the load on that website the way we carry the load on this blog.
Absolutely no way.
As it is, Carol made us write three chapters of her next book. THREE CHAPTERS! What are the rules on this? Can someone just make us do something like that? And we’ve heard we are not getting paid for doing all the writing we did.
We are garden fairies. We take umbrage.
Well, not exactly umbrage. Granny ‘Gus’ McGarden said we should be happy to have a part in this next book. She thinks we did a pretty good job with our part too. And she reminded us that she cannot think of any books that have actual chapters written in them by garden fairies so this may be a first for garden fairies.
So maybe we shouldn’t be too quick to take umbrage. Maybe we should be all chuffed with pride? We’ll decide later. We will wait and see how well Carol handled our chapters after we wrote them. Then we will decide how we feel about the whole thing. In the meantime, we are leaving all of our options, from umbrage to pride, open.
In other news, Carol put up her Christmas tree. The tree fairies were happy about that. It’s not that they mind staying all winter in the sunroom without a tree. It’s nice enough especially since Carol cleaned it up and fixed all the plants nice for winter. But it isn’t a Christmas tree.
We are garden fairies. We can’t wait to knock an ornament on the floor and blame the cat.
Hey, wait a minute! Carol doesn’t have a cat!
Uh-oh. We need to finish off this post and form a committee to start meeting and discussing who else we can blame for any ornament calamities—yes, we wrote calamities—around here!

I was wondering what Carol was up to. Now I know. Thanks garden fairies.
