I’m going to start out by giving you an assignment so this blog post will make sense to you, or at least has a better chance of making sense to you.
If you haven’t read my blog post about the eight types of mowing, your assignment is to read it first before continuing here.
For this who have read it, remember the eight types of mowing?
In summary, they are: 1) mow-crastinating, 2) mow-voidance mowing, 3)mow-ditation mowing, 4)mow-dering, 5) anticimowtory mowing, 6) mowpathy mowing, 7) mowercizing, and 8) mowgrudgingly mowing,
Yesterday while mowing—excuse me, while mow-ditation mowing—and quite frankling sweating while doing it, so I was also mowercizing, I realized I was also doing another type of mowing, heretofore not yet named!
(Yes, those of who are experienced at mowing our lawns can do several types of mowing at the same time, but I recommend this for only highly experienced grass cutters.)
The new type of mowing that I was doing was re-mow-niscing, which is when you reminisce as you mow.
Which I was doing yesterday!
I was thinking about how when I was a kid, I didn’t mind mowing the lawn. At least I don’t think I did. I certainly don’t now!
In honor of my re-mow-niscing, I dug through a bunch of old photos and came up with a picture of the backyard when I was a kid, when likely, hopefully, I took my share of turns mowing it. I would guess that picture is from the early 1970s.
Anyway, I hope you share in my excitement of this ninth type of mowing, re-mow-niscing, being named.
I am also hoping with that as I continue to mow, I’ll soon determine a tenth type of mowing, because ten is a nice round number, though wouldn’t twelve be better?
I’ll go ponder on that when next I mow. Excuse me! I mean I will mow-der on that, and see what comes to mind.
*Update!*. The tenth type of mowing is mowfully mowing, which is when you are thinking of nothing but mowing while mowing, mindfully thinking about the entire process… mowfully mowing… No. 10!
I think I’ll stop with that one. Unless while mowing…
*Updated Again!*. changed re-mow-miniscing to re-mow-niscing
I think your newest (#9) type of mowing has an unnecessary syllable in it. Shouldn’t it be “re-mow-niscing”, which sounds more like what you’re trying to get across??? Just my ten cents worth! I am very familiar with all your types of mowing and use them more often than a woman in her 80th year cares to admit.
I think you are right! Updated! Thank you!
If I mowed, I would definitely use it. LOL
