Happy Bookday, Halloween Hare!
Yes, indeed, I’ve finally lifted the story of the Halloween Hare off the pages of this blog and put it into a book.
Now even if the internet disappears one Halloween night, at least the book will survive, and so will the Halloween Hare.
What’s it about you ask?
I don’t want to give away the entire story but suffice it to say that I wonder if the Halloween Hare can start a new tradition of tossing a few extra pieces of candy out into the garden for him to find on Halloween night?
Time will tell!
Many thanks to my nephew for doing the illustrations for this book. He also illustrated my other children’s book, The Christmas Cottontail, in which the Halloween Hare is briefly mentioned on page 10. And the Christmas Cottontail likewise has a brief mention in The Halloween Hare.
They are related, after all.
Without going into grim details about what it takes to self-publish a book and have copies available when you announce that book to the world, just know if you click on the this link it will take you to a page where you’ll find a link to Bookshop.org where you can purchase the book and have the proceeds go to your favorite independent bookstore, plus a link to Amazon, if you must.
I currently don’t have copies to sign and sell myself, yet, but hope to have them before Halloween and in time for mailing them out to those who are interested. If that’s you, send me an email and I’ll notify you when copies are available. Even if it’s too late for this Halloween, it will be in plenty of time for next Halloween.
(And yes, The Christmas Cottontail, is also still available!)
Happy Bookday, Halloween Hare!
